Jatiluwih is located in Tabanan Regency and it is approximately 40 kilometers from Tabanan city and is about 60 kilometers from Denpasar city. The location of Jatiluwih is located in the middle of Batukaru mountain area, so you can feel the fresh air and also enjoy the beautiful rice terrace. Jatiluwih has an own characteristic namely the expanse of rice fields with its beautiful and stunning rice terraces. The word of Jatiluwih is divided into two words, there are Jati and Luwih. Jati means real and luwih means beautiful, so Jatiluwih means really beautiful
Jatiluwih Agricultural Festival
Balinese Government efforts to promote the existence of Jatiluwih Tourism Object, they will create agricultural festivals. To get closer to tourists, they will be involved with various events in the festival, such as installing a scarecrow, plowing rice fields and harvesting. Activity begins with free event on Saturday, April 22nd 2017.
I Nengah Sutira Yasa ( Manager of Jatiluwih Tourism Object) said the first festival was held to develop villages around Jatiluwih Rice Terrace area and Catur Angga Batukaru area. Sutirta explained, overall this festival will be held for four months. Starting the festival will held the installation of the scarecrow and windmill from each subak in Jatiluwih. The other activities include Ngusaba Subak ritual (this ritual is a form of gratitude to God who has given grace and welfare in the form of rice crops), parade of Catur Angga subak agriculture, STT (youth generation) carnival, dance performances, culinary bazaars, subak parade and culture camp.
Jatiluwih Agricultural Festival’s Purpose
The purpose of Jatiluwih Agricultural Festival is preserving the local culture then all the activities held in this festival will be valuable of local culture. This will be visualized through fragmentary about life in the fields with the involvement of krama subak. The theme of each subak is divided into 4 groups of 20 subak caturangga that is farming (metekap), planting (ngurit), treatment (masak lelutut), harvest (manyi) using Ani-ani, this activity will involve tourists who visit the tourist attraction jatiluwih.
