Hidden Paradise in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is the only special region in Java island. Yogyakarta also known as Student city because many school and institute in Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta also have many tourism activities ranging from culinary until adventure. Gudeg is the most known food in here but there are many kind of culinary beside gudeg such as Klathak satay , Shibitsu noodle and many more.


Kalibiru is nature tourism spot in Yogyakarta. Kalibiru is a forest owned by government but managed by local communities and become a natural tourism and education tourism. for those of you who are interested in enjoying the natural beauty of kalibiru then you should try trekking in Kali anget trek.

Kalibiru is located in Jl. Sermo-Kalibiru, Hargowilis Village, Kokap, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.  Kalibiru is 40km from Yogyakarta city and it will take around 1 – 1,5 hour. This tourism spot really close with Sermo reservoir (the only reservoir in Yogyakarta). It will be better using vehicle with higher cc because we will pass uphill.

The ticket fee to enter kalibiru is Rp.5000 and if you using bike you need to pay Rp.2000 for the parking fee and Rp.5000 for car. If you want to take a picture in the stage that already prepared by the communities you need to pay Rp 10.000 just to see the scenery and if you want to take a photo there are photographer services in there and you need to pay Rp 5000 for each photo.There is also outbound facility in here, you just need to pay Rp 25.000. The outbound consist of crossing rope ladder, wood bridge and flying fox ( unfortunately the flying fox so short) .

  2. Food kiosk ( the price in here is normal unlike other tourism spot )
  3. Toilet
  4. Rest area
  5. Homestay ( there are many homestay near kalibiru)
  6. Camping Ground
  7. Outbound Area.
