Hello from Bali traveler! Hope you have an amazing day. Well, as we know Indonesia especially Bali has the unique culture and tradition to interact tourist to come, beside the beautiful scenery of nature and favorite tourist attraction, there is also the culture of the local language, well today I would like to inform to the tips before you vacation to the Island of thousand Temple. Well, when we visit the other country or place, we must learn the local language. Don’t learn too much, maybe only the general language like, thank you, sorry and how are you? If you visit Bali, you must learn some Balinese language. Here is the simple word course for you when you’re in Bali. Here is it!

There is the Balinese language that you must know;

  • Om Swastyastu :  the Balinese greeting
  • Rahajang Semeng : Good Morning
  • Rahajang Wengi : Good Evening
  • Punapi Gatra?  : How are you?
  • Becik-Becik : I’m fine
  • Matur Suksma : Thank You
  • Ampura : Sorry
  • Seduk : Hungry
  • Ngajeng : Eating
  • Matumbasan : Shopping
  • Nyelang : Borrow
  • Pamit dumun : I want back/ bye
  • Melali : Hang out
  • Beli : calls for the man older than us
  • Mbok : calls for the women older than us
  • Gus: calls for boy
  • Gek : calls for girl

Well, before visit Bali, I suggest you to learn the word above can be use when you’re arrive at Bali and make your tour guide wonder when they pick up you at the Airport and can make good first impression to us to the other. Say “Om Swastyastu” and then smile, that is the best for the first impression to local people in Bali.
